Photographs of LTJG Chamberlain's Attack
One of the
best photographs of the U-boat War. Two of LTJG Chamberlain's depth
bombs have hit the water and two are captured in flight. One can be
seen rolling off the port side of the U-boat's deck onto the saddle
fuel tank just aft of the conning tower. The second depth bomb in flight
has lost its flat nose covering indicating that the weapon has ricocheted
due to the low impact angle.
