The statements were all determined from C a r t e r. | ||||||||
a) Both were captured 2 May, 1942 approximately 100 nm east of Cape Fear from the sunken Patrol Yacht "CYTHERA"(PY-26). "CYTHERA": 850 tons, length 241 feet, crew 2 Officers and 66 Men, en route from Norfolk via the Panama Canal for Pearl Harbor, 2-7.5 cm cannons 4 machine guns (anti-aircraft) 60 depth charges, sound gear, she had been in service for 3 months, " CYTHERA: former yacht of Mr. Hurknes. Built in 1906. | ||||||||

b) The prisoners warned us: off New York all was mined. | ||||||||
