Deutschen Dienststelle (WASt) Response

Deutschen Dienststelle (WASt) was a German government agency based in Berlin which maintained records of members of the former German Wehrmacht as well as records of German and Allied Prisoners of War.  For a fee, it was possible to receive a transcript of the information held on an individual.  On 1 January 1919 The German Office (WASt) was transferred to the Federal Archives (PA Department) on January 1, 2019.
