  Missing Serial Nos. from Krech: 214, 31, 38, 39, 40, 46, 47, 77 from 24 August.  236, 42, 43, 50, 54 from 31 August.   Naval square DM 7437, 96 cbm, 13 torpedoes, Trade Wind weather.  
     
  From Gehlhaus:  
  1.)  3 September 4 steamers unescorted, course S, of these naval square 5944 2 of 8500 GRT sunk.  Off estuary a patrol vessel.  Otherwise only neutral traffic and fishermen sighted.  
  2.) 123 cbm, 7 + 6 torpedoes.  Square 5832. NW 3, cloudless, 1025 mb., +18°C.  
     
  1.)  Swede "PEIPING" sunk, because darkened at twilight.  DQ 18 wool, hides, fat from Buenos Aires for New York, 1 coup de grace failure, ground runner.  
  2.)  Out of torpedoes, a total of 9 steamers of 52985 GRT, 23 cbm, Trade Wind weather 2.  Arrival supply 14 September.  DQ 19, All naval squares.  
  3.)  Air search periscope head cover glass destroyed by aircraft bomb.  Request spare at tanker.
