On 22 June 1944 Theo arrived in New York harbour aboard the Queen Elizabeth. Initial processing occurred at a receiving center at Communipaw in Jersey City, New Jersey and was completed at Camp Patrick Henry, Virginia over the next few days. Theo was then taken to Camp McCain, Mississippi for permanent internment arriving 15 July 1944. |
